A high-speed Internet connection (i.e. DSL, Cable or T1) is recommended to download a Windows Media Download movie. Because of the DVD-quality file size, downloading with a high-speed connection can take between 1 and 5 hours. Slower connections can use the recommended third-party Free Download Manager but will take much longer for the download. Once the download is completed, the movie can be watched without an Internet connection.

If you select the Download to Own option, once you have purchased the title, you own it.
If you chose the rental option, you can view the title for purchased rental time; either
7 or 30 days. During your rental period or if you select Download to Own, there is no
limit to the number of times you can watch a title. Each title can only be viewed on the
computer on which it was initially played.
| The cost of the Download to own titles range from $19.95 to $24.95.
7-day rental agreement is $9.99
per movie. 30-day rentals are $14.99. Pricing may vary slightly for exclusive or high-definition titles.
You can watch your download as many times as you want. Download to Own titles do not expire.
Rentals expire at the end of the selected rental period (7 or 30 days).
Your rental period begins when you start playing the movie. Using our Download Manager, you can start playing the
downloaded portion of the movie after 10% of download is completed. Because you can purchase and download movies
without starting the rental period until you choose to play the movie, it is easy for you to purchase multiple
titles, download them, and start the viewing time at your leisure.
Download to Own purchases have no expiration date. For rental purchases, once your
rental period expires, the downloaded file becomes inactive. If you want to remove it
from your hard drive, simply delete the file.

This error message is given when our records indicate that a license has already been installed for a particular title. This happens most often when customers purchase a new computer, restore their hard drives and/or upgrade their operating systems. By design, DRM licenses are delivered only once for each title purchased. This information is validated each time you view your selection. When you replace your computer, your hard drive, or upgrade your operating system, often the licenses (and sometimes the files themselves) are deleted. This can usually be corrected by a simple reset of licenses. If the file is also missing, you will need first need download it again through the standard download process in the Windows Media Player Download Library. Note: you will only be able to reset your licenses once every year.
